By 2030, Generation Z — those born between 1996 and 2012 — will make up one-third of the global workforce. They are already shaping the future of the music industry with their expectations and skillsets. But are we, as educators and industry leaders, truly ready to meet them where they are? Do we support them enough for them to stay in the sector and fully commit? How can we make music education and the music industry flexible, responsible, and attractive to the next generation of young professionals?
The discussion will begin with insights from ManpowerGroup’s international study World of Work for Generation Z in 2025, followed by an honest conversation with educators and young professionals. We invite everyone, including representatives of Generation Z, as well as those contributing to the development of music education — or those who feel they could — to join the conversation.
