Keynote introduction by Joe Frankland, CEO of PRS Foundation - The Impact of the UK’s International Showcase Fund 2019–2024
International success is a key ambition for many artists and businesses, but how do we measure it? Can music export truly be quantified, and if so, what are the most effective ways to do so? According to the International Showcase Fund (ISF) report the ISF investment has generated a cumulative increase of £6.7 million for the UK economy over the past five years, with export income alone growing by over £3.2 million. Furthermore, 90% of ISF-supported music creators established new international industry contacts. But beyond financial gains, what other indicators define export success?
Followed by a panel discussion exploring how different countries approach export measurement, the methodologies used, and what insights the industry itself can offer. Are there universal benchmarks, or do cultural and economic differences shape each country’s approach? Most importantly, how can we apply this data in our own music markets to strengthen global reach and economic impact? Join us for a discussion on the evolving landscape of music export measurement and what it means for the future of the industry.
