Brave New Classical

Saturday 6 April at 11:3012:30 in Capella

TMW holds dear the fact that all possible genres and scenes are included. We sometimes feel that breaking these boundaries and making the diversity of choice better accessible will help music reach new audiences.

This year we are proud to collaborate with Classical:NEXT to enhance opportunities for classical and art music. Classical:NEXT was born out of the simple idea of bringing the diverse scenes of classical music together to offer a forum to exchange and develop new ideas around this genre. It unites the global art music community, creating a worldwide movement to explore potential paths forward into the future. A unique open platform that unifies all sectors of the genre and addresses both the economic and the artistic aspects of the industry.

As part of this collaboration, we are hosting a discussion with experts in contemporary classical as well as choral music. We’d like to explore new formats and opportunities while deliberating on strategies to encourage our audiences to broaden their musical horizons. This conversation seeks to identify ways to create more opportunities for both artists and composers, as well as audiences alike.
