Authors’ societies around the globe are reporting record-breaking revenues, yet simultaneously caution that a substantial portion may vanish in the next 5 years due to AI. This signals a paradigm shift in how we perceive authors, but the influence on the industry from a legal perspective remains unclear. While change does not occur overnight, the evolving industry necessitates a corresponding evolution in the law. This panel aims to unravel how the complex legal framework of copyright adapts to the ever-changing conditions of the music industry.
