Kärt Nemvalts has been professionally active in the field of copyright many years, since 2013 at the Ministry of Justice.
She has considerable legislative experience, being the author of numerous amendments to the Copyright Act and has participated in the decision-making process of the European Union. This includes leading the copyright working group of the Council of the European Union during the Estonian presidency in 2017 contributing among other files to the finalisation of the copyright DSM directive. From 2021, K. Nemvalts heads the Division of Intellectual Property and Competition Law at the Ministry of Justice.
