Toms Putniņš is the Editor-in-Chief of Latvijas Radio 5 (LR5), the youngest person in an executive position in the history of the Latvian media market. He leads the station’s editorial direction across broadcast and digital platforms, with a strong focus on shaping contemporary music culture and elevating emerging artists.
Alongside his role in LR5, he is the Executive Content Editor and Head of Production of the charity marathon “Dod pieci!” (“High Five!”), part of the international Serious Request movement. He oversees the creative and editorial vision of the project, leading the content production and multidisciplinary teams for Latvia’s largest and most impactful media initiative.
Toms is also an active voice in the local and international media and music landscape, being a member of all Latvia’s music award juries and having served as a jury member for international competitions and awards, including the Eurovision Song Contest and Prix Italia.
