Tom Bonte is the general director of one of Belgium's finest and best-known concert halls, Ancienne Belgique, located in the heart of Brussels. He studied art history at the University of Leuven, graduating with a thesis on the relationship between German and Flemish primitive painting in the late Middle Ages. He previously worked as general and artistic director of the Beursschouwburg in Brussels (2011-2020), as performing arts programmer at the Vooruit art centre in Ghent (2005-2011) and at the Antwerp deSingel art centre (2001-2004). Between 2017 and 2020, he was president of the board of the Brussels Art Consultation, which brings together more than 100 organisations in the field of art in Brussels.
