Sami Helle is a founding member of punk band Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät (PKN) and Pertin Valinta (Pertti's Choice) Outsider Art Production House. PKN represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, played over 300 gigs in 16 countries and made two award-winning documentaries, Punk Syndrome and Punk Voyage (MoukaFilmi, 2012/2016). In 2018, PKN founded the social enterprise Pertin Valinta to promote diversity, human rights and equitable creative industry practices. Pertin Valinta productions include a shop, an outsider art gallery, a radio show, an agency and management, the Outsider Art Festival (OAF) and OAF international pop-ups. In 2024, Pertin Valinta was awarded Best Service Provider at the MusicXMedia Industry Awards for shaping a sustainable future by empowering industry outsiders.
