He is the author of Smashing It Up: A Decade of Chaos With The Damned, the critically acclaimed biography of seminal British punk band The Damned. His writing has also appeared in Q, The Guardian, The Independent, i (the newspaper), France’s Les Inrockuptibles, Finland’s Rumba, Music Week and Billboard. He also writes for The Arts Desk, the UK's first professional critical website. He consults for major and independent labels on catalogue reissues. With music marketing and publicity, campaigns worked on include a-ha, The Courettes, Lou Doillon, Eivør, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Morten Harket, Mari Kalkun, Lykke Li, Alina Orlova, Wardruna and Hindi Zahra.
