Aivar Laan is the GM of Product, Design & Engineering (Estonia) at Sony Music Entertainment. An entrepreneur with over 30 years of international experience, Aivar has a proven track record of two successful exits, most recently in the data-tech sector.
His career spans leadership roles across live events, advertising, and music technology. He was the founder of the European Capital of Culture 2011 highlight project, Katusekino/Rooftop Cinema. Between 2015 and 2022, Aivar built two music-tech startups as Founder/CEO, leading to an acquisition by Sony Music. A veteran of top-tier accelerators including Techstars Music (LA) and K-Startups (Seoul), he has raised over €1M in venture capital. In addition to his role at Sony, Aivar is an active angel investor and LP in several VC funds, including Seedcamp and Siena.
