Aivar Laan is a 30+ year entrepreneur with extensive international experience, having achieved two successful exits (most recently in data technology). He has founded and held C-level positions across diverse sectors including live events, marketing, advertising, property development, technology and the music industry.
Laan founded a European Capital of Culture 2011 highlight project - Katusekino/Rooftop Cinema in Tallinn and Riga. From 2015 to 2022, he built two music/live events technology startups as founder/CEO; the first pivoted, whilst the second was acquired by Sony Music Entertainment. He participated in five global tech accelerators, including top-ranked programmes (Techstars Music LA, Wallifornia Liege, TechSeed Gdansk, K-Startups Seoul). Currently, Laan serves as General Manager of Sony Music Entertainment's PDE (Product, Design and Engineering) in Estonia, whilst active as an angel investor and Limited Partner in VC and secondary funds, including Seedcamp and Siena.
