Shereen Perera is an award-winning cultural producer who spends her time between London and Manchester. She’s delivered over 250 UK and international projects in a variety of formats - from 24-hour digital festivals about the impact of COVID-19 on women and girls, to co-managing In Place Of War’s international girl band to delivering citywide biennials to co-directing Manchester’s DIY film and music night Video Jam.
She is currently the Senior Producer for The WOW Foundation, which organises WOW - Women of the World festivals, shedding light on gender issues by convening people around the world to mobilise, activate and most importantly celebrate women and girls. As WOW's producer, she is constantly trying to make sure diversity and accessibility in all its forms are baked into the scaffolding of each and every project. She recently set up WOW’s first-ever dedicated music programme WOW Sounds, working with women, girls and non-binary musicians from around the world who are using music as a form of activism to create social change.
All of Shereen’s work combines her two passions creativity and social justice and stems from a lifelong commitment to platform marginalised voices, promoting intercultural dialogue and uniting people from different backgrounds.
