As co-founder and head of legendary PR firm Savage & Best, Jane Savidge is one of the main instigators of the Britpop movement that swept the UK in the mid-1990s. Her new book, “Pulp's This Is Hardcore”, offers a unique insight into the cultural and historical context of the record that destroyed Britpop, This Is Hardcore was Pulp's cry for help. A giant, flawed masterpiece of a record that tackled fame, ageing, mortality, drugs, and porn – and still came out crying and laughing on the other side.
